Hailing from Liptovský Mikuláš, Slovakia, he captured the prestigious Hobey Baker Award in 2003 while at Colorado College.
His international success includes two bronze medals with the Slovak National Team and a tenure with the St. Louis Blues.
Following a successful twelve-year pro career, Peter turned his focus to youth development. Since 2015, he has coached with the Lafayette Locomotive, achieving a 14U AA State Championship in 2023/24.
Currently, he serves as the Executive Director for the Lafayette Hockey Club and as Head Coach for the 16U AA and 18U AA teams.

Jamie O’Leary has been a cornerstone of the Colorado youth hockey community for over 25 years, serving as both a dedicated coach and a seasoned program administrator. Since 1997, he has held leadership roles with several premier youth organizations in the state, bringing a wealth of experience across every level of the game.
Currently, he serves as the Director for the Lafayette Hockey Club and as Head Coach for the top two 12U teams.

Elite Playing Background: Jamie’s coaching philosophy is rooted in his own high-level playing career. Growing up in the hockey hubs of Connecticut, Illinois, and Colorado, he played AAA hockey for Team Colorado, Team Illinois, and the Chicago Young Americans. He later attended the prestigious Shattuck-St. Mary’s Prep School before competing at the NCAA level for Fairfield University in Connecticut.
Chance Ubel
Chance is a Colorado native with a deep passion for developing the next generation of hockey players. He currently oversees the coaching, development, and operations of all Mite (8U) and Learn to Play Hockey programs for the YMCA. In addition to his leadership roles at the foundational level, he serves as the Head Coach for the Lafayette Locomotive top 10U team.
Playing Career
Chance’s journey through the ranks of competitive hockey has taken him across North America:
- Colorado High School Hockey: Competed for the Centaurus Warriors High School hockey team.
- Junior Hockey: Played in the Canadian Premier Junior Hockey League (CPJHL) for the Lake Erie Eagles.
- College Hockey: Competed at the collegiate level for the Cortland Red Dragons ACHA D1 team.
Coaching & Leadership
With a focus on both high-performance coaching and grassroots development, Chance is instrumental in the Core Skills Hockey pathway:
- Youth Head Coaching: Leading elite development for the Lafayette Locomotives at the 8U and 10U levels.
- Skills Specialist: Serving as a dedicated skills coach, focusing on the technical mechanics required for modern high-speed hockey.
Vladimir Mislovic (Vlad)
Vlad brings a unique, elite perspective to the Core Skills Hockey team as a high-level goalie coach. His deep understanding of the position—from technical mechanics to mental resilience—makes him an invaluable asset to goaltenders and skaters alike.
Playing Career
- International Competition: Developed in the Slovakian professional and junior systems, renowned for producing technically sound, elite-level goaltenders.
- Pro-Level Experience: Competed at the professional level in Slovakia, gaining invaluable experience in high-pressure environments that he now translates into his coaching.

- Goaltending Authority: Serves as the lead coach for goalie development for both the Lafayette Locomotive and Core Skills Hockey.
- 14U AA Head Coach: Vladimir is currently the Head Coach of the Lafayette Locomotive 14U AA team
Martin Moine
Martin oversees the coaching, development, and operations of all Adult Hockey programs for the YMCA and serves as the Head Coach for the Lafayette Locomotive 14U A team. His deep ties to the Colorado hockey community and his extensive background in youth development make him a vital asset to players of all ages and skill levels.
Playing Career
Martin grew up playing hockey in Colorado before competing for John Carroll University’s ACHA D1 team. During his tenure at John Carroll, he was a key factor in capturing a CHMA conference championship, earning the Playoff MVP award and leading the school to its second-ever appearance in the National Tournament.
Coaching & Development Background
Martin’s coaching journey began at age 18 when he traveled to Denmark with Planet Hockey to assist younger age groups. Since then, he has developed a specialized focus on goaltending and overall player skill development:
- Specialized Goalie Instruction: Martin began running specialized goalie clinics while in college, focusing on the technical fundamentals of the position.
- Colorado Avalanche Youth Development: Martin currently works with the NHL’s Colorado Avalanche on "Grow the Game" initiatives. In this role, he focuses on teaching the basics of the sport and expanding hockey’s reach and development throughout the state of Colorado.
