Eligible Birth Years: 2008 – 2015 (focused on 2012 – 2013)
Daily Schedule
- Classroom Instruction: Tactical breakdowns and video review to understand the "why" behind the techniques.
- Off-Ice Training: Dry-land drills to build proper mechanics, balance, and posture before hitting the ice.
- On-Ice Session: High-repetition drills and situational gameplay to apply concepts in real-time.
Key Teaching Concepts
- Safety & Awareness: Heads-up hockey, identifying danger areas and high-risk situations on the ice, and understanding the rules of contact.
- Fundamentals: Proper posture, balance, and the specific edge work required to safely receive and deliver hits.
- Tactical Body Position: Angling concepts, timing, body positioning in battles, and net-front play.
- Power & Execution: Transferring power into hits, eliminating the man, and "killing the play."
- Defensive & Evasive Skills: Evasion tactics, stick-checking concepts, and defensive coverage.
